Cowan Park

Our review

Located just outside Glasgow, in Barrhead, Cowan Park is a fair-sized, attractive park that offers both open fields and stunning views. It may not be the largest park, but if you live south of Glasgow and you’ve exhausted the larger parks then it’s certainly worth a visit.

Cowan Park is very pretty and open, so even though it’s not huge, it’s still a really pleasant place to walk your dog.

Keeping fit

If you’re into formal exercise, then you might appreciate the outdoor gym. Like Bellahouston Park and Rouken Glen Park, Cowan Park has a good range of circuit equipment, allowing you to walk your dog and exercise at the same time.

Good views and open spaces

Ok, so it’s not Kelvingrove, but Cowan Park has some lovely views out towards Dams to Darnley and beyond.

The park doesn’t really offer a circular walk, but the large fields are easy to walk around and should allow you to get a good walk in. The fields are also great for ball games.

Great for families

If you’re a family dog walker then you’ll be pleased to know that Cowan Park has a pretty decent play area. And the paths are fine for walking with prams.

If you like Cowan Park then you may also like Victoria Park, Newlands Park and Maxwell Park
