Travel Information

  • Drive – Roadside parking is a bit hairy on Rodger Drive, so best to park up on Overtoun Drive, which is much quieter
  • Walk – There are entrances on Rodger Drive and Overtoun Drive
  • Rail – Croftfoot and Burnside are your nearest railways stations. From Burnside head towards Broomieknowe Road and then up to Rodger Drive.

Before travelling by train, it’s worth having a quick read of National Rail’s policy on travelling with animals.

Please note that buses are not obliged to accept non-service dogs. For that reason we haven’t included bus routes.

Our review

Overtoun Park is a small but pretty park, located in Rutherglen and is very typical of Glasgow’s city parks. Like Newlands Park and Cowan Park it has a great deal of charm and is well-maintained.

The park is ideal for a gentle stroll with the dog but don't come expecting a long or bracing walk!
